Product Overview

Perforated wire mesh (perforated sheet) is produced by mechanically punching or laser/peripheral cutting holes into continuous sheet metal to create a uniform grid of openings. This manufacturing technique enables precise control of hole geometry, pitch and open area, delivering repeatable acoustic, filtration, airflow and decorative performance while maintaining planar strength. Typical base metals include stainless steel for corrosion resistance, carbon steel for structural uses, and aluminum where lighter weight is required.

Customization

A wide variety of hole patterns is available—round, square, slotted, oblong, capsule and decorative motifs—each offering different open-area to strength trade-offs. Slot and staggered patterns yield higher open area and better flow-per-area ratio; small round-hole grids produce fine filtration and acoustic diffusion. Manufacturers commonly offer pre-set standard patterns (with published pitch/open-area tables) and full custom tooling for project-specific perforation layouts.
