Sanitary Stainless Steel Wire Mesh Filters for Food and Pharma
Product Introduction
These Sanitary Stainless Steel Wire Mesh Filters are engineered specifically for food, beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical processing where hygienic design, cleanability and regulatory traceability are mandatory. Built from medical/food-grade stainless steels with electropolished surfaces and sanitary end fittings, the elements minimize bacterial harborage, withstand repeated CIP/SIP cycles and simplify process validation.
Hygienic Design & Materials
We select SS316/316L or higher alloys and apply electropolishing to achieve low surface roughness (Ra ≤ 0.4 μm), reducing particle adhesion and biofilm formation. Welds are orbital or TIG finished and ground smooth; edges are hemmed or flanged to avoid exposed burrs. When seals are required, we specify FDA/USP-compliant elastomers (e.g., EPDM, silicone, FFKM) chosen for compatibility with CIP chemistries and sterilization temperatures.
Product Specification Sheet
| Parameter | Typical Range / Note |
|---|---|
| Mesh / Filtration | 4 — 635 mesh; nominal openings ~5000 µm → <1 µm (sintered). |
| Material | SS304 / 316 / 316L / 310 / Duplex / Inconel (specify). |
| Form Factor | Cartridge (pleated/rigid), Basket, Disc, Panel, Sintered Cartridge. |
| Max Temp | Up to ~600°C (woven/sintered SS) — higher for special alloys. |
| Pressure | Vacuum → design up to ~100 bar (structure-dependent). |
| Cleaning | Backwash, CIP, Ultrasonic, High-pressure pulse. |
| Typical Lead Time | Samples 5–12 days; custom cartridges 2–6 weeks (qty & testing dependent). |
Filtration Configurations & Performance
Available weaves include Dutch (tightest control for sub-micron separation), twill (balanced permeability and strength) and plain for coarse screening. Multi-layer, sintered or pleated constructions increase effective area and dirt-holding capacity while keeping pressure drop manageable. We supply retention data (particle count / beta ratios) and recommended differential pressure curves to support system sizing and validation protocols.
Applications & Advantages
Ideal for juice clarification, beer filtration, pharmaceutical API protection, dairy protein recovery and critical pre-filtration ahead of membrane systems. Benefits: stainless media resists thermal/chemical stress, elements are cleanable (backflush/ultrasonic/chemical), long service life reduces total cost of ownership, and traceable certificates simplify regulatory audits.
CIP / SIP & Validation Support
Elements are tested for repeated CIP cycles (alkali/acid) and autoclave/SIP exposure; material certificates and test logs accompany batches for audit. For sterile process lines we provide sterilization cycle guidance (temperature, hold time, acceptable ΔP after cycles) and assist customers with FAT/PQ documentation templates. The sanitary housings and clamp systems are compatible with common tri-clamp / hygienic flange standards for quick field removal and return.
