The Self-Cleaning Stainless Steel Wire Mesh Filter is engineered for continuous industrial processes where uninterrupted operation and low maintenance are essential—chemical reactors, cooling loops, pulp & paper recirculation, and continuous food/brew lines. Instead of disposable cartridges that require frequent replacement, this system combines durable stainless media, automated cleaning mechanics and instrumentation so the media is regenerated in situ with minimal downtime.
Design & cleaning strategies
Typical elements use a layered mesh stack: coarse support → transition → polishing layer. The filter sits in a housing equipped with either an automated backflush manifold, timed or ΔP-triggered pulse-air blowdown, or mechanical scrapers/rotary brushes for sticky foulants. For high-viscosity loads we recommend scraper modules; for suspended-solid flows a high-volume backflush cycle is most efficient. Electropolishing and optional low-surface-energy coatings reduce adhesion and lengthen intervals between cleanings.
Applications & selection
Use cases include: catalyst protection feed, condenser circulating water strainers, membrane pre-filters for high-SOLID feeds, continuous brewery clarifiers, and chemical reactor charge screens. To specify, provide fluid matrix, nominal solids loading, particle size distribution, flow rate and allowable ΔP. We size layer count, weave type and clean cycle option accordingly and deliver predicted ΔP vs. time curves under representative load.
Maintenance & lifecycle
Routine checks: ΔP trend, cleaning cycle success rates, integrity of scraper seals and actuator function. Elements are serviceable—individual mesh packs can be replaced on site without downtime for the main line. We provide commissioning support: PLC recipes, spare actuator kits and recommended cleaning chemistries or backflush water volumes.
